Introduction

Norway has been on the bucket list for many years. The opportunity presented itself to do the trip with our furry babies and the decision was made; our minds made up - let’s do it!

We planned the 13,000km trip, prepared and packed our camper van “Isabel”, loaded Rafa and Gandhi, plus the mobile office, and off we went. The long journey North has begun.

We feel grateful and blessed that we get to this, and share our #vanlife adventure through Europe and Scandinavia over the next 7 weeks. Come ride along our camper road trip to Nordkapp.

Route This Week

Total Route So Far

After driving every day of week one to get as far North, and as much distance behind us as possible, we were very happy to have two stationary days at the beginning of week two to catch up on work and get some laundry done. A nature park alongside a lake South of Hamburg provided the perfect setting for this.

Saturday was the day we were looking forward to for so long - at last the day came to meet up with our special friends Kim & Erwin from Holland who joined us in Hamburg for the Scandinavia part of the adventure. We planned this trip with them way back at the beginning of 2019 when they visited us in Thailand and were very excited to eventually meet up again after so long and get going together. Kim & Erwin had special sweaters designed for the four of us for trip which made everything even more special.

We spend the first night together near the Danish border and had a lot to catch up on late into the night. The next day we set out on our Scandinavia adventure together; geared up with 2-way radios in hand to stay in touch en-route and excited for what were to come.

We spend the next night in Denmark and crossed over to Sweden from there. We headed further North, crossed the Norwegian border and ended week two of our total road trip in Lillehamer, host city of the 1994 Winter Olympics.

The first impressions of Norway exceeded expectations, filled us with satisfaction for making it so far, and left us hungering for more the coming weeks as we head further North.
